On February 26, 2010, Ryan and I woke up at 5am to our bed shaking. Well, I was groggy because I hadn't slept well so I thought I was dreaming. Ryan, on the other hand, stared at the a/c unit above our heads and thought it would be bad if that fell on us (but didn't try to wake me up or move me....thanks hun!). It turns out Okinawa got hit by a 7.0 earthquake!! Luckily our houses are built out of concrete and we didn't even have a wine glass out of place.
The weather gurus issued a tsunami warning and we had to evacuate since we live a block away from the ocean. So we decided to check out the incoming wave from the highest point we know - Nakagusuku castle!
